6 Reasons I Would Recommend Hidden Mountain Resort For Your Smoky Mountain Wedding

Weddings at Hidden Mountain Resort

Where The Heck is Hidden Mountain Resort?!

Hidden Mountain Resort is a Smoky Mountain Resort, tucked away in the Pigeon Forge / Sevierville region of East Tennessee. I love the location because it’s not super hard to find and convenient for anyone driving in from out of town. It’s not so far up Gatlinburg that you have to deal with tons of traffic and phone service still works!

The Drive to Hidden Mountain Resort

The drive really isn’t bad. I travel from Knoxville, TN to photograph weddings, so it’s less than an hour drive for me. There is more than enough parking as well, which can be hard to find for mountain venues.

I’ve photographed 2 weddings at Hidden Mountain Resort and both have very different vibes. I do want to preface and say that I had such a great time at both!! I freakin loved the couples and the second one was actually on Christmas Day so it was a very beautiful ceremony.

The Cabins at Hidden Mountain Resort

The cabins are HUGE! Even though this resort has been around for decades they still have done a great job keeping up with the cabins and modernizing them. Even the reception area was great. At the first wedding I did, the couple rented a giant cabin where the Bride occupied the top while the Groom occupied the bottom. The “first look” was so great! There wasn’t a long walk for either and it was super convenient for them to go and take shots after they met, haha.

The Overlook at Hidden Mountain Resort

I think this was one of the most gorgeous overlooks for a smaller wedding that I have had the pleasure of photographing. There are so many gorgeous backdrops packed into a small little area where we took photos of the Bride and the Groom, as well as did family pictures. You can see pretty far above Pigeon Forge but also have the mountains there as well. There is a short walk from parking to the reception area, but easily accessible for wheelchairs and elderly who may have trouble walking on grass. If the weather is too cold or rainy then the Reception Hall is a great place to do the ceremony as well.

The Reception Hall at Hidden Mountain Resort

The Reception Hall has a very woodsy cabin vibe. It’s dark, but there is pops of light which makes for very intimate photos. I tend to bring extra lighting to all the weddings I photograph, so the lighting wasn’t an issue for me. I really liked how the dance floor was in the middle and right in front of a fire place. Like I said before, the second wedding I did here had their whole event in the Reception Hall. The Bride’s first look with her Father was done in a little side room which had great outdoor lighting. Also, the Bride came into the front door, which was 50 feet from the ceremony area, so it was super dramatic!

Do I Recommend Hidden Mountain Resort?!

Want a beautiful Mountain setting thats easily accessible and very intimate!? Then I would definitely reach out for more info. The staff was great as well and didnt linger around (like some venues can do.) They pretty much unlocked the doors and trusted the wedding parties to do the right thing.
